The story of your life.
Lore is a personal journal for iPhone. You write what happened. It keeps the people, places and dates straight, takes in what you already track, and hands any of it back when you go looking.
Beta invites go out by email. Nothing else lands in your inbox.

What you do in it
Write it down
A journal entry is a brain dump, bound to a day or a stretch of days. Lore keeps your words exactly as you wrote them and never rewrites them.
Bring in what you already have
An Apple Journal export and Notion databases come in as journal entries and dated events, each one keeping a pointer to where it came from.
Find any detail again
One field searches everything — a journal entry, a person, a place, a trip, a job — and shows you the line the name was in.
Close the gaps
Lore offers three things worth writing about at a time, never a backlog, and can sketch a trip from your bookings and photo dates for you to correct.
How it is put together
- People, places, personal projects
- Each gets a page listing every journal entry and event that names it. Five people called Anya get told apart once, and the answer sticks.
- Events and tags
- An event is a dated thing that happened. A tag says what kind — trip, pay rate, bachata — and can carry details, such as nights away or a pay rate, recorded exactly as the source states them.
- Facts with a source
- A small statement about someone — a birthday, a job — always links back to the journal entry it was drawn from. Fixing a wrong one means fixing its source.
- Dates that stay vague
- “~2005” and “summer 2019” are first-class. Lore never quietly turns one into a day.
What happens to what you write
- Your journal is stored in a database in the EU and readable only by your own account.
- Gmail is optional and read-only. Lore looks for travel bookings around your trips, reads them on your phone, and never stores an email body.
- Photos stay on your phone. Only the date and place of a photo are used, to work out where a trip went.
- Nothing is sold, there are no ads, and your writing is not used to train general models.

Where it is now
Lore runs on iPhone and is in beta on TestFlight. There is no web app and no Android build. If you would like to try it, leave your email above and I will send an invite when there is a build to try.
